Welcome, welcome, dear human, we are so pleased and delighted to be with you again today. We want you to know that we are always here to support you. When you’re feeling worried, or when you’re in pain, when you’re stressed or think you’ve got no time to relax or no peace inside to relax properly… just take three deep breaths.
When you take a couple of deep breaths, preferably three, close your eyes, and feel into the now moment, you will start to unwind. Your body will immediately respond to it, and your mind will definitely follow suit.
When you feel you can’t relax
Relaxation in a time of turmoil can be challenging, but you have to take care of your body as well as your mind. Living in a constant fight-or-flight mode is unhealthy and will cause you more problems than you think you already have!
And the fastest way out of stress, is the three-deep-breaths-rule. Just try it now. Close your eyes, and take one really, really deep breath.
The first breath: the meadow
As you take this first breath, while you inhale, you see a beautiful meadow right in front of you. A meadow, with green grass, filled with beautiful flowers in variable sizes. Tiny little daisies, yellow dandelions, you may even see tulips, or daffodils, and if you look closer… do you spot the poppies in the distance?
While you see this meadow, you slowly exhale. Nice and quietly, you exhale and with that you let go of any feelings of stress or anxiety that you have felt today.
Second breath: smiles and health
And when you take another deep breath, the second one, you inhale health, and joy, and smiles. Even if you don’t feel like smiling, just try to create a little smile on your face, lift those corners of your mouth, and see if you can smile. If you really can’t that’s also okay.
Just try to get as close as you can to a feeling of joy and feeling healthy. Even if you’re not healthy right now, think of how it would feel if you were.
Again, hold that breath for a short while, and go back to that meadow, smell the flowers, the grass, maybe you can feel the grass below your bare feet?
Imagine you’re standing there, barefoot, enjoying the sound of birds chirping and a soft breeze playing with your hair, stroking your face, the sun shining on your skin… Total relaxation.
When you exhale, let go again of everything that feels like stress, nervousness, worries… blow it out, and see it drift away. It’s no longer part of your day, it’s all released, and sent away.
Third breath: meet the most important person of your life
Now, for that third breath, when you inhale the air, you imagine that you’re standing on that meadow again, and see that someone is standing there, waving at you. While you hold your breath for a short period, you imagine yourself walking closer to whomever is standing there, and suddenly you see that it is… YOU!
You yourself are standing there, and the other you is calling you, asking, inviting you to walk closer to them.
They spread their arms and invite you for a hug. Now, when you exhale that third breath, you wrap your arms around yourself. Your left hand holding your right upper arm, your right hand holding your left upper arm, you take yourself in your arms as best you can. And then hug yourself.
Importance of loving you
However strange this may seem to you, it’s important that you start to understand that loving yourself is one very important aspect of life as a human being. And loving yourself can start with hugging yourself.
Don’t be discouraged by thinking about what other people might say or think of it, just give yourself this hug and tell yourself “I love you!”. You can even give yourself a kiss on the hands, saying “I love you”.
This is the ultimate way of releasing stress and anxiety. Give it a try, and enjoy the love for yourself. It’s a big step towards loving anyone else in the world. If you can‘t love you, fully and wholeheartedly, it’s nearly impossible to really love anyone else.
We wish you less stress, more love, and more joy in your life. You have the keys to achieving that in your hands. We are always here to support you on that journey. We are you, you are us, we are one. All is well!
