Welcome, welcome, dear human, on this beautiful new day. We are so pleased to talk with you about the topic of stress.

When life doesn’t feel like a bed of roses

stressFor many people stress is a given. They feel stressed about money, about their jobs, about relationships, their children, spouses, parents. You can quite possibly relate to that.

Stress is a constant in your human society, where it’s hard to get away from it.

When you look into your outside world, you constantly see things, and experience things, that may cause you to feel stressed, or even anxious or, when you’re really susceptible, it might even cause you to have panic attacks.

We understand that, and that is why we want to talk with you about this topic. Because it’s not necessary to live that way, no matter what is going on in your world.

Let’s talk some more about this, and we’ll explain more on how you can avoid these kinds of stress levels, to live a better, happier, more carefree, and relaxed life.

What is stress?

First we want you to understand that stress is a reaction of your body and mind, that is causing you to try to run. It triggers your ‘fight or flight’ mode, which is essentially the only function of stress.

Whenever there’s a danger approaching you, whether it’s a wild animal, a creep waving an axe at you trying to kill you, or a shark coming up at you when you’re in the sea, the stress makes you focus on one thing only: survival.

Now, the time that you currently live in, and the world you live in, may cause you levels of stress that feel exactly the same. As if someone’s waving an axe right at you, while in reality it’s a tax assessment, or something you feel threatened by that you hear or read in the news.

time pressureOr you’re under time pressure to meet a deadline. It could be that upcoming visit to or from family members you don’t get along with too well.

Your electricity bill at this moment could cause you to get really stressed, or the money you have to pay for filling up the gas tank of your car.

The only thing you can change is you

How can you reduce such stress? Because there’s often no getting away from these stress inputs. No matter what you do, you will be confronted with things happening, that you could potentially get stressed about.

So the only option you have, is changing how you handle these things, and how you respond to it.

And that might take a little practice. But wouldn’t it be worth it to feel more at ease, whatever happens, whatever lands in your mailbox, or whatever the cash register at the gas station is telling you?

So, here’s a 5 steps plan that might be helpful.

1. Get out of your head

stop thinkingFirst off, stop thinking so much. You tend to be in your head more than is good for you.

When you are confronted with something that you don’t like, for instance a high bill, you instantly start thinking: What am I gonna do? How am I gonna pay this? What if I’m forced to do something that I don’t want? What if I lose my house? What if I lose my job?

All these doom images start rolling over each other inside your mind.

So that is the first thing you have to start working on: stay in the moment, look at where you are, and look at whatever it is you’re seeing.

For example if you received a bill, or a tax assessment, take a good look from the present moment at what you’re having there: it’s nothing but a piece of paper, printed letters on paper.

Try to focus on what is actually there, instead of seeing images in your head that are just your imagination based on fear!

2. Keep your calm

Always start with taking a coupe of deep breaths. Stamp your feet on the ground, to ground yourself, take three or more deep breaths, they are essential, and focus your attention from your head into your heart.

And every thought that is trying to distract you away from your heart back into your head, you send away. Say ‘thank you, I’m staying in my heart right now’, and focus on being in your heart.

If you don’t know what that means, or how to do that, it’s very simple. Just imagine a staircase, or an elevator, and you step on the stairs or in the elevator, and you visualize yourself descending from your head, into your heart.

3. Find joy and pleasure

The third thing to do, when you’re emotionally and/or mentally in a stressful place, is to start thinking of something that makes you happy.

play musicPut on some nice music, pick up an instrument, or take a pencil or a brush to make something artistic, whatever it is that you like to do. Music and creativity are great healers, and a great distraction.

But you could also go for a walk, or a bicycle ride, go to a forest, a beach, or somewhere nice where you can have some relaxation.

Even sitting on a terrace, or in a nice little cafe having a cup of coffee, or a glass of water, enjoying looking at other people, and being present in the moment right where you are, can be of great help to distract your mind and stay out of those stressful thoughts and feelings.

4. How is it happening on your behalf?

The fourth thing to do is try to see what’s in it for you, what can you learn from it, how can what is happening to you be of help?

This can be a hard one, because many people start feeling a victim of their outer world, but remember what we’ve said often times before, that you are the creator of your world.

So if you create your world, what good is the experience that is unfolding in your life?

When you stay calm, and think about it in a positive way, to look for the reason behind what is going on in your life, you can most likely discover why your Soul, or Higher self, would want to experience exactly that which is unfolding.

5. Don’t resist but accept

The fifth is to accept the situation as it is. Don’t fight it, don’t resist it, just accept it as is, being present in the moment.

Then go from there, from a calm place, preferably from a higher level of consciousness or a higher vibration, so from a place of joy and feeling good.

visualize the outcomeFrom there you can start to visualize how you would want things to unfold, because you are the creator of your life. You can influence how situations will turn out, by using your imagination from a higher vibration!

When you do all that, you will definitely start to reduce the stress in your life. And with practicing these steps, you will discover that your stress reactions to anything will become less intense and you’ll stay more relaxed, whatever happens in your life and your world.

We hope this will help you to stay more present and more at ease, because your life is meant to be a life of joy, and not one filled with stress.

The real cause of stress

Remember that stress is always caused by your very own thoughts! That piece of awareness in itself already can reduce stress. Choose your thoughts wisely, that’s something to always keep in mind.

We love you very much, and we wish you a stress-free and happy life.
